I established the Kristina Klein & Zaida I. Avila Softball Grant-in-Aid in memory of my daughter, Kristina, whose love of softball went far beyond the game itself–she treasured being part of a team, the camaraderie, and the friendships it created. Although she did not attend Notre Dame, she loved the University and what it stood for. It is my hope that this scholarship fund will support bright, talented young women as they pursue their education and their passion for softball at Notre Dame. I know my daughter would be very proud to have her memory connected to these remarkable young women and to a University that has meant so much to both of us.
